| Note that Whitehorse is a great place
to begin and end a tour of
Alaska!

The pick-up/return depots
are located at Calgary, Halifax, Toronto,
Vancouver, and Whitehorse gateway to Alaska.
The driving distance between Whitehorse and Alaska's Denali National
Park is 798 miles (1287 kilometers). See the online route planners listed
on our "Resources" page, at left.
There is no surcharge for pick-up/return at Whitehorse.
Condor offers direct
flights from Frankfurt, Germany, to Whitehorse every Tuesday and
Thursday, May through October.
Air Canada
operates two daily flights between Vancouver and Whitehorse,
and tickets for these can be appended to Air Canada and
Lufthansa
tickets from/to Europe.
Certain one-way rentals are possible between the depots, as follows
— although the minimum duration for one-way rentals is 14 days:
Our online reservation software accounts for these specific constraints, itineraries
and fees.
Shuttle transfer is offered until 1 pm
free of charge from/to the relevant
airport, airport area hotels, and city hotels (except in Toronto city).
At Vancouver, transfer is provided from/to the cruise terminal but
not from/to the ferry terminals.
Vehicle pick-up (or return) is not possible directly at locations
other than the depots.
At Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto there is no room for customers to
park their cars on the depot grounds, although acceptable street parking
is available nearby. At Halifax and Whitehorse there is limited room on the
depot grounds for customers to park a car for the duration of a motorhome rental; clients
should contact the depot in advance to learn whether such room is available.
The vendor permits travel to Alaska, the Yukon, Nunavut
and the NW Territories if the client declares such intention with the
booking.
The vendor does not allow the vehicle to be taken into Mexico.
Nor does the vendor allow them to travel into Death Valley
from 1 June through 31 August. The vehicles may not be parked in the
city center (i.e. downtown) of Montreal nor in New York City, and they
must always be attended by the client when in these cities.
Where/when the ambient temperatures of the low-altitude regions near the
depot are expected to be below the freezing point during a client's rental,
the vehicle will be delivered to the client
with its water/waste system drained, hence neither the sink, the
shower nor the toilet can be used; and if the client re-hydrates this
system during the rental and returns the vehicle as such, a CAD 100 fee
will be charged to the client upon return. In contrast, if such temperatures
will or may be encountered only at higher altitudes or otherwise sporadically
during a client's rental duration the vehicle may or will, respectively, be
delivered to the client with its water/waste system hydrated.
Regardless, in all cases the client is responsible for any damage to the water/waste system
due to freezing. Which is to say, the client should be sure the water/waste system
is drained of water before using the vehicle where that water system might freeze.
Of course upon the pick-up occasion the vendor can provide instruction regarding
the draining and rehydration of that system.
The depots are open for pick-up MondaySaturday,
9 am to 3 pm.
They are open for standard return MondaySaturday,
9 am to 12 noon, i.e. mornings.
A non-standard pick-up time is not possible.
A considerably non-standard return time (after 1 pm, let's say) entails an
extra night's worth of cost.
The IdeaMerge software accounts for such a non-standard.
The depots are closed on Sundays and on certain holidays,
which are accounted for by our online reservation software.
A fee of CAD 30 per hour applies to late return of the
vehicle. General hours of operation are 8:30 am to 5 pm
MondayFriday, 8:30 am to 4 pm on Saturday.
The vendor provides free storage of luggage at the rental depot
(but at the client's risk).
A thorough explanation and demonstration of the rental vehicle will be provided
upon pick-up. This orientation, together with completion of the relevant
paperwork, requires approximately one hour.
The depot addresses and contact numbers are as follows:
