Apollo's Cheapa Campa brand vehicles are
subject to virtually the same policies as the regular Apollo vehicles but are distinct from Apollo's regular fleet insofar as a Cheapa Campa vehicle
instead of being sold after its initial 0–2 years of service in the regular fleet has been retained by Apollo and made available for rental at rates
cheaper than
those applying to the regular vehicles. The Cheapa Campa vehicles are still in good shape, just a little older — about 2–4 years old
— and a bit rougher for the ware
but perfectly functional and necessarily in good shape.
Also, whereas either standard rates or flex rates apply to Apollo's regular fleet (IdeaMerge's software determining for you which sort of rate is the better deal),
only Flex rates apply to the Cheapa Campa vehicles.
In contrast to standard rates,
Flex rates are re-determined every Monday
relative to supply and demand considerations.
These rates tend to favor the customer insofar as the
customer places an order long before the pick-up date.
(Therefore no specific early-bird discounts apply to flex rates.)
A particular flex rate is associated with every vehicle,
pick-up location, and pick-up date
(actually, with each MondaySunday duration)
yet it applies to every day of the rental.
If the pick-up or return date of a booking based on such rate is
subsequently changed,
the original flex rate will no longer apply;
the change will be processed as a cancellation
(but without a cancellation fee) and rebooking at the currently
effective flex rate.
KEA and Maui do not offer flex rates. Britz offers flex rates only.
Cheapa specs are approximately equal to those of the regular Apollo vehicles.
