If you cancel more than 30 days before your pick-up date,
your US$400 deposit minus a US$50 cancellation fee will be immediately refunded to your card.
Said US$400 deposit is the only payment that you will have made by that point,
for the remaining amount isn't charged to your card until
30 days prior to the pick-up date.
If you cancel within 30 days of your pick-up date,
said US$400 deposit is not refundable but the balance charge made at the 30-day threshold
is refundable minus a US$100 cancellation fee. So, until 30 days before pick-up
your risk is only US$50, but within 30 days before pick-up your risk is US$500.
After you pick-up your vehicle, the only refund you can qualify for is an early return refund as described below.
Naturally a person is not allowed to cancel one of these leases and rebook (even if in a family member's name) to take
advantage of a price drop. Such policy is the industry standard and is analogous to the ticketing policy of the airline industry.
When a person books such a lease they lock in to that price, but this policy usually favors them because prices of course tend to
rise rather than fall.
(The rates per se are not dependent on location and not dependent on season. Rather, the rates are set by the manufacturer
near the beginning of the year and typically stay the same throughout that year. However, the rates effective for the market
in your country of permanent residence are set relative to that market and to the value of the Euro versus the currency of your market.
Hence the rates may change considerably from year to year and occasionally within a year.
Again, such rate changes are not retroactive to bookings already made.)
A first or second change (or first or second set of changes) made to a booking
more than 30 days before the pick-up date entails no change fee.
Further such changes entail a US$50 change fee per set thereof.
Within 30 days of the pick-up date it is typically not possible to change the vehicle, pick-up location,
and/or customer name as listed on the lease contract; but if such changes do prove to be possible within that time window, they
would entail a US$500 change fee per set thereof, whereas other sorts of changes within that time window would entail a US$50 change fee.
Alternatively you can make changes to your return location and/or
date after you've picked up the vehicle and without suffering a change fee.
If a different return charge applies to the new location, you will be
charged or credited the difference. You are responsible for
making such post-pick-up changes.
To do so, contact the office of the relevant return location (listed in your
copy of the "Traveling Instructions" booklet)
at least 48–72 hours ahead of
the actual return date.
In the event that you return the Renault Eurodrive vehicle early (i.e. before the date stated on the contract), you may be eligible to a partial refund,
subject to the following conditions:
Contract extensions can be made from the road provided 8 days of
notice and payment by the final day of the original contract, but
the resulting duration of the amended lease cannot exceed the
applicable
maximum, and days added as such are not refundable.
To extend, call Paris at the relevant number listed in the Traveling
Instructions booklet provided in the vehicle.
You will need to provide the registration number of
the vehicle, your Renault Eurodrive contract number, and your credit
card details. Renault Paris will fax (or mail) the new insurance certificate
to you at the number (or address) you indicate.
Note that the additional-day cost of the extension will be
considerably higher than the original such cost, as follows (although these figures are subject to change without notice):
specific vehicle
One of the prime benefits of a French tax-free short-term auto lease in contrast to an auto rental is the precision such lease arrangement affords to you
in procuring a vehicle. Which is to say, such lease contract stipulates a particular vehicle
in terms of make, model and certain features (as presented on this Website) and effectively ensures that said particular vehicle
will indeed be delivered to you unless the naturally ineluctable force of circumstances causes
such vehicle to be actually unavailable for delivery to you on your contracted pick-up date, in which
case another new vehicle reasonably considered equivalent (but not identical) to the stipulated vehicle will instead be delivered to
you for your use until the contracted drop-off date. The very close temporal connection between the manufacture and delivery of these
lease vehicles is what makes the aforementioned, remarkable precision of selection possible, but it likewise makes the delivery of such vehicles sensitive
to circumstances such as labor strikes, vehicle recalls and natural disasters, i.e. to the veritable force of circumstances.
Truly rare are the circumstances which make said replacement necessary, but they are a natural element of the industry.
buying outright
