An extensive makeover to the passenger compartment includes a 
redesigned cockpit area with enhanced ergonomics and comfort. New 
materials and finishes produce a refined atmosphere that confirms 
the 2005 version of Laguna's membership in the upmarket motoring 
elite.  
 
With five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests, Laguna set a new 
standard in vehicle safety. This new version goes one step further 
to offer even more improvements in active and passive safety, with 
the Renault third-generation protection system, electronic stability 
program (ESP) and emergency braking assist. Other improvements in 
driver and passenger protection include a special device to prevent 
driver knee damage arising from forward sliding under impact 
conditions. And head protection for child passengers is further 
improved through special retractable child headrests on the rear seats.
